Ride Recap 2016-11-01: Fenton Fire Hall (Fenton, MI)

It was an unusually warm November day with a high temp of 78F and mostly clear skies for the last scheduled dinner ride of 2016.
We were joined by new Ford hire and prospective club member Steve B. on his FZ-07. Right before leaving we were visited by a spiky motorcycle enthusiast vigorously cheering us on. 10 riders left from the K-Mart parking lot for a short 43 mile ride. We rode mostly north avoiding Fall road construction projects. Beck Road was unusually free of traffic. Unfortunately the further north we went the more traffic we encountered. Wixom Road was full of commuters. Milford Road was frustratingly slow in key parts because of traffic so the sweepers were not fully exercised. Oh well, I can’t really complain because I was riding my motorcycle on a warm fall evening. We arrived at the Fenton Fire Hall in Fenton and were joined by 3 other FMC members who made their own way. It was warm enough outside at 7:30PM that we sat outside, some of us in t-shirts! Drinks were drank, food was eaten, and the Cubs forced a game 7 of the world series. Thank you Ollie for sweeping and everyone else for blocking lanes and keeping the group together.

On the ride home after dinner I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take a couple runs at the I96/US23 snowman intersection. There was light enough traffic that we mostly had the sweepers to ourselves. It was nice to get a couple good leans in before the snow inevitability comes.
